Early developement of stop motion animation

zoetrope

this a zoetrope animation it is a barrell with images slotted inside, it has gaps/slits round the top of the barrel to look through. When the barrell is spun it makes the images look like they're moving.

phenatikoscope

a phenakitoscope is simply a small disc with pictures around it, then when spun it appears as if the pictures are moving.
